This weekend buzzing indie artist tUnE-yArDs—the stage name for multi-instrumentalist Merrill Garbus—came to town for a Sunday night concert at One Eyed Jacks. Armed with a ukulele, keyboard, bass player, and numerous drums and other percussion, Garbus played songs from her new album w h o k i l l, released in April.
The next day, she played an intimate noon show at Domino Sound Record Shack for a crowd of about 40, eliciting sing-a-longs from wild tracks like “Hatari”. The mid-day set time brought out several young parents for what Garbus called the most baby-filled audience she’s played for.
