In the tradition of local rap supergroups the Hot Boys or the 504 Boyz, a 2011 crew formed earlier this year from four New Orleans MCs who have met with local success recently: K. Gates (“Black and Gold”), Y. Luck (“Walkin’ Thru New Orleans”), Dappa (“Come and Get Me”), and The Show. Together they are the Rap Pack, a tuxedo-clad, champagne-sipping clan of Sinatras and Davis Juniors. This song, “Ooh La La La”, is their second video, and was released early this week in conjunction with their first mixtape, Suit Music, Vol. 1. It’s a strong release, featuring the two singles in addition to the evergreen “Luchini”, the saccharine “Sit Down”, and the funky “Alpha Numerics”. Download the mixtape HERE.
