Head to Delgado Community College’s City Park Campus (615 City Park Ave.) on Friday, Apr. 6 and Saturday, Apr. 7 for a weekend of top notch local music, free and open to the public with refreshments available. The Delgado Music Festival is presented by the school’s Music department in collaboration with Cutting Edge CE Conferences and Events. The two-day event will cap off a spring semester of music programming, including masterclasses and a songwriting contest. All proceeds go toward music scholarships and future improvements to the program.
Both Friday and Saturday, the festival will kick off at 11 a.m. with performances from students in Delgado’s jazz program, move on to sets from choirs and brass bands from local schools, give a shot to the winners of the songwriting contest and finish off with headlining sets from a stacked lineup of New Orleans mainstays.
This year’s headliners are Sunpie and the Louisiana Sunspots, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Quiana Lynell, Brass-a-Holics, Moyuba, Sam Price & the True Believers, Rockin’ Dopsie and the Loyola Contemporary Ensemble. Check out the full lineup below:
