Had Corey Woods, aka Raekwon, simply been one of the Wu-Tang Clan rappers featured on the group’s classic debut album, Enter the Wu-Tang: 36 Chambers, his place in hip-hop history would have been set. Had he only followed up that performance with his 1994 seminal solo album Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… it still would’ve been enough to elevate him to the rap pantheon. Instead, the MC has continued to release high-quality songs and make impactful guest and group appearances in the 17 years since then. His latest album, Shaolin vs. Wu-Tang, includes this single, “Butter Knives.”

Tonight, Raekwon performs at Maison with the cream of New Orleans’ hip-hop crop—Dee-1, Lyrikill, and Truth Universal—opening. Doors open at 9 p.m., tickets are available in advance.
