Lil Wayne’s follow-up to Tha Carter 3 – Rebirth – was originally scheduled to be released December 21, but it was moved back into February. That release date may have to be reconsidered because Amazon.com appears to have shipped pre-ordered copies of Rebirth on the weekend. An Amazon message board features posts by buyers, some of whom received their CDs, some of whom followed the tracking route as their CDs were sent then returned to sender.

LilWayneHQ.com has photos of the CD in the hands of a buyer. This is a major problem because Tha Carter 3 was one of the few million-selling albums of 2008, and in a struggling music marketplace, this could seriously undercut sales of the album as bootleggers and torrent files circulate instead of the official album.
